All students are encouraged to use the West Entrance to enter the building. The North Entrance will primarily be used by staff and visitors. All doors will be locked at 7:40. A campus monitor will be housed in the West Entrance and will escort any late students directly to SCBI (School Center for Behavior Improvement) room where they will remain for that period.
The Main Office has moved into the former Vice Principals office. The North side of the split office space is now housing the Registrar, Bookkeeper, Attendance and Office Secretaries. This give parents access to numerous offices all in one location. Counseling office remains on 2nd floor Main.
East High School is now participating in the Free Breakfast and Lunch program. Starting September 6, ID badges are required to receive a free meal. Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors still have open campus for lunch but will not be allowed re-entry into the building after 10 minutes into the lunch period. Students will be allowed entry starting 10 minutes prior to the end of lunch. New this year, Freshman will confined to the cafeteria for their lunch. These measure hope to decrease the roaming of halls and increase afternoon attendance for all grades. Of note, the Salvation Army is offering breakfast burritos from their food truck every Monday morning before school. The truck will be parked in the parking lot North of the Walker Building.
Fall Activities are well underway. The Scarlets offer football, boys golf, girls swimming, boys and girls cross country and volleyball, just to name a few. East High Cares and East High School Special Olympics will begin the second week of September. Try-outs for the Fall musical Hairspray have begun.
